The system & products
What is the SideBy modular system?
The system is built around three pieces. The Drift is included in Dual Range and Full Range. The Cord and The Line are also sold on their own: The Drift (hands-free crossbody/waist module), The Cord (adjustable classic leash), and The Line (matching collar). Combined, The Drift and The Cord form a 4-in-1 modular leash system that adapts to how you move.
What configurations does the modular leash offer?
Connecting The Drift and The Cord gives you four distinct walking configurations:
- Hands-free crossbody — for coffee runs, city commuting, or carrying bags.
- Waist-tethered — cinched at the waist for running or jogging.
- Standard walking hold (100 cm) — everyday walking distance with comfortable clearance.
- Close-control hold (65 cm) — immediate anchor for busy crossings, crowded pavements, or public transport.
When fully extended, the combined system reaches up to 270 cm.
Can I buy pieces separately?
The Cord and The Line are sold on their own in Umber, Rouge, and Moss. The Drift is included in Dual Range and Full Range and is not sold on its own. The sets are:
- Range Set / The Dual Range: The Drift + The Cord (the complete 4-in-1 modular leash).
- The Daily Range: The Cord + The Line (classic leash and collar set).
- The Full Range: The Drift + The Cord + The Line (the complete leash-and-collar walk system).
Are SideBy products suitable for cats or other pets?
No. SideBy is designed specifically and exclusively for dogs, with strap proportions, hardware weight, and pull strength suited to canine daily walks.
Materials & care
What materials are SideBy pieces made of?
Every SideBy piece is crafted from a waterproof, dirt-resistant coated strap with a subtle embossed texture, finished with custom matte metal hardware designed for effortless daily movement.
Are SideBy pieces fully waterproof?
Yes. The material is non-porous and water-tested: it does not absorb water, hold dampness, or retain odors after wet walks, mud, or rain. The hardware has a protective matte finish built for everyday weather.
How do I clean and care for my pieces?
Wipe clean with a damp cloth after muddy walks. For heavier dirt, rinse with lukewarm water and mild soap, then let dry naturally. Do not machine wash, tumble dry, or use abrasive detergents.
Sizing & fit
What sizes and dimensions are available for The Line collar?
The Line collar is 1.9 cm wide, weighs 57 g, and is available in two adjustable sizes:
- Size S: adjustable neck circumference 20–32 cm
- Size M: adjustable neck circumference 30–45 cm
How should I measure my dog for a collar?
Use a flexible tape measure around the base of your dog’s neck where the collar sits naturally. Keep the tape snug but comfortable, with room to slide two fingers underneath. Compare your measurement to the sizes above. If your dog is between sizes, we recommend size M for comfortable adjustability.
What size or breed does the modular leash suit?
The 1.6 cm wide strap and matte metal hardware are suited to small-to-medium urban dogs — for example Dachshunds, Poodles, French Bulldogs, Cockapoos, and Italian Greyhounds — without excess bulk or weight.

Where do you ship?
We ship across the European Union, United Kingdom, United States, and Australia.
Where are orders dispatched from, and how fast are they processed?
All orders are processed and dispatched from our studio in Barcelona, Spain within 2 business days (Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays).
How much does shipping cost, and how long does delivery take?
Shipping rates and delivery estimates are calculated at checkout based on your delivery address and selected shipping method. You will see the available options and exact cost before confirming your order.
How do I track my delivery?
Once your order has shipped, you will receive an email confirmation with a tracking link.
Will I have to pay customs duties or import taxes?
For deliveries within the EU, there are no additional customs fees on our side. For orders delivered outside the EU (including the US, UK, and Australia), your local customs authority may apply import duties, VAT, or handling fees upon delivery. These charges are determined locally and are the customer’s responsibility.
Returns & exchanges
What is your return policy?
In accordance with EU regulations, we offer a 30-day return window. You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return or exchange.
What conditions must returned items meet?
To be eligible for a refund, items must be unused, unworn, and in their original condition; all original tags attached and original packaging intact; and you must provide a valid order number or proof of purchase. Final sale items and gift cards are non-returnable.
Who covers the return shipping cost?
For standard returns and exchanges, return shipping is covered by the customer. We recommend a trackable courier service, as we cannot take responsibility for items lost in transit. If an item arrives defective, damaged, or incorrect, contact us with a photo — we will cover return shipping and arrange a replacement or refund.
How do I start a return?
Email hello@sidebystudio.com with your order number and reason for return. Once authorized, we will send return instructions and our Barcelona studio return address. Parcels sent without prior authorization cannot be accepted. After we receive and inspect the item, refunds are credited to your original payment method within 5–10 business days.
How do exchanges work?
The fastest way to exchange a size or colour is to start a return for your current item and place a separate order for the new piece once your return is confirmed.
